Puncak Pass

Some pictures from last year's trip to Puncak with a friend. I managed to snap the foods we were eating at Puncak Pass.

Pancake; forgot both the price and the name. Totally delicious though..

Poffertjes. Classics, been eating these puffy balls since my childhood days whenever I visited Puncak Pass

Bakerzin

These little cuteness are cute.. and top of that, heavenly. These are macarons, the infamous pastry from France. Macarons are actually sweet meringue-based confectionery made from icing sugar, egg whites, almond powder, and food coloring, filled with jam or flavored buttercream. It is still very rare to find good quality macarons here in Jakarta, as not every bakery bakes this little fragile pastry.

Thankfully, one bakery slash restaurant, Bakerzin, sells Macarons.

Caramel Macaron

Pistachio Macaron

Chocolate Macaron; the chocolate ganache filling is super rich! :D

Black Forest Macaron

Macarons, IDR 8,500 each; IDR 42,500 (box of 5) excl. 10% tax

Nanny's Pavillon

Had the chance to visit Nanny's Pavilion with a friend. The restaurant is located at Pacific Place mall and has a unique concept, a bathroom. Yes! The tables are made from tubs and for the chairs, they put toilet bowls with cushion on it. They also have make-up table completed with soaps, towels, bath robes, sink, and even a shower! Anyway, foods were delicious!

Auntie's Sausage Baked Rice

Saute rice serve with sausage and white sauce, gratain with Mozarella

The baked rice was SUPER GOOD. I don't know what they put in the rice (it could be butter hmm..), it was soooo yummy and fragrant, the rice simply melted in my mouth. As for the sausage, it was good though.

Rating: 8/10

Grilled Baby Potato with Tartar Sauce

The sauce was ridiculously good. Though potatoes were a bit plain, but accompanied with the sauce, it will be an addiction. (Oh wait, I'm addicted to it already!)

Rating: 7/10

Anyway, my mom tried to make an 'imitation' of the Grilled Baby Potato, just this afternoon. Instead of using baby potato, she used boiled and peeled potatoes, topped with smoked beef, cheese, mayonnaise, and popped them to the oven. Well, didn't taste the same, but still, I loved it!

Nanny's Blueberry Cocktail

Blueberry cocktail, with fruit chunks inside (mango and apple if I'm not mistaken). Definitely refreshing, though the cocktail tasted like Tipco juice.

Also, tasted their Original Pancake and Blueberry Cheese Roll Pancake. I prefer their Blueberry Cheese Roll Pancake though. It was actually pancake rolled with cream cheese inside, topped with blueberry sauce and vanilla ice cream. Yum yum!

Eid Mubarak!

First of all, I want to say:
Eid Mubarak for all Muslim people around the world! May Allah bless you all!
Selamat Hari Raya Idul Fitri 1 Syawal 1431 H, mohon maaf lahir dan batin..

I didn't celebrate it, though, but my dad's friend does. So this morning, I woke up kinda early and went there. Guess what, my family got ketupat (rice shaped like a diamond), with other foods and cookies too ;) it was such a harvest!

1st; main course:
Ketupat ...and Lontong
They're both rice. However, Lontong shaped like a cylinder.

Don't judge the foods by their looks.
Rendang: chicken; it's just okay for me and rather salty (the one on right)
Friend chicken: chicken; another okay, because I often eat this (the one on the back)

Semur: consist of meat -chicken, potatoes, and eggs; my favorite of all ❤ (the one on front)
Labu kuah: I don't know what it called in English. Some kind of pumpkin, perhaps? Or cucurbit? It tastes kinda spicy but still yummy! (the one on left)

2nd; cookies:
Kastengel: cheese! (front, right)
Nuts: of course, nuts, duh. LOL (back, right)
Nastar: with pineapple inside it (front, left)
(Some cookies): I don't know its name (back, left)

The one which has successfully won my heart, NASTAR! And also my brother's favorite.
If he's in Indonesia, he can finish them off by himself.

Fortunately, he's not here ~
Just kidding, big bro D:

Little Penang

Got the chance to try Little Penang at Puri Mall, well because my dad saw the banner and the restaurant is holding a promo "Buy 1 Curry Laksa, Get 1 Kway Teow". Since my family love Penang food so much, we decided to try it. The restaurant just had its grand opening this afternoon and it was quit busy. Ah sorry, but no pictures :(

Tried Curry Laksa with Grilled Chicken and for the freebies, got Kway Teow with Grilled Chicken.

THE VERDICT:

Curry Laksa with Grilled Chicken: the gravy tasted just okay, nothing was really special. It was made out of coconut milk, a bit nauseating. Also served in the bowl, one cube of fried tofu, one fishball, few slices of grilled chicken, bean sprouts, and a dash of spicy chili paste. The noodle was A LITTLE undercooked for me, but that was okay.

Price: IDR 31.800,- (excluding tax) for this price, it was still quite expensive for me

rating: 6/10

Char Kway Teow: Kway teow served with grilled chicken. I did not eat this one, but my mom said it was very flat and just okay.

price: free

rating: 4/10

Es Campur Penang: mix of grass jelly, cendol, red bean, and shaved ice.

price: IDR 12,800 (excluding tax)

rating 5/10

Quite great food and quite nice interior design. Maybe I will come back when I miss those mouth-watering Penang cuisines :D
